Ray L. Clinebelle, Jr., CPA, Partner

Ray is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Certified Information Technology Professional with 34 years of progressive accounting and auditing experience. As an Audit Partner in the Raleigh office, he concentrates in accounting, auditing and business consulting with small business, credit union, manufacturing, information system, SAS-70 audits, not-for-profit and government contractor clients.

His industry experience includes working as a CFO for a large not-for-profit medical peer and utilization review organization, where he was responsible for all accounting and reporting for multiple government contracts. Prior to joining Cherry, Bekaert & Holland in 1998, Ray was the managing shareholder of Clinebelle, Miller & Co., P.A.

Ray has extensive experience working with the government contracting, not-for-profit, real estate, manufacturing, construction, retail, finance, and service industries. Specific areas of experience include federal and state chartered credit unions, federal compliance and single audits of federal and state grants and contracts, Medicaid and Medicare cost audits, rural health and primary care clinics, assisted living facilities, third-party administrators, real estate, EDP examinations (SAS 70), business valuations and fraud examination services. Ray performs CPA peer reviews for the AICPA and serves on the Firm peer review team. Ray is also a member of the CB&H Business Valuation Services group. He has provided business valuation services for acquisitions, divestitures, gift and estate tax planning, estate administration and buy-sell agreements. He is actively involved in providing fraud investigation and prevention services and has testified in U.S. Federal Court.

Ray is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA), including the Peer Review Executive Committee with the NCACPA and the Triangle Chapter of the NCACPA. He is also a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the Central Carolina chapter of CFEs, the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), and the Knightdale Chamber of Commerce. Ray is also a frequent lecturer in areas of fraud prevention.andards Subcommittee, GFOA Special Review Committee and the NCACPA Government Audit Committee.
