Cherry Bekaert Adds Depth to Growing Real Estate Practice in Atlanta
Cherry Bekaert LLP (“the Firm”), a nationally recognized, growth-oriented CPA firm, today announced the addition of two new Partners, Wesley P. Hudson and Catherine L. Bazley, to its Real Estate & Construction industry group in Atlanta, Georgia.
Hudson has over 20 years of experience and knowledge in the commercial real estate industry, including real estate tax credit transactions, pre-acquisition due diligence, purchase price allocation, tax mitigation structuring, real estate consulting and financial statement audits. He has worked closely with real estate holding companies, developers, contractors and private equity funds, advising on real estate transactions ranging from $25 million to $4 billion. His technical ability encompasses a broad range of expertise, from specialty structured financing to high-level GAAP real estate issues with clients in the hotels and resorts, student housing, military housing, multifamily/affordable housing and retail/office sectors.
Bazley brings close to 20 years of accounting and industry experience focused in commercial real estate with expertise in tax planning and preparation for real estate owners, developers, investors, and high-net-worth individuals. She consults on tax aspects of real estate operations and entity transactions, including tax mitigation, partnership mergers and acquisitions, compensatory partnership interest issues, complex partnership allocation calculations, and inbound/outbound foreign investments. In addition, she has experience with multinational real estate investors and multistate partnerships, providing clients with tax minimization and optimization strategies.
