A Litigation Support Partner at Cherry Bekaert, Phil has more than 33 years of experience supporting clients in commercial litigation and marital dispute resolution cases. Recognized as an accounting expert witness, Phil works with a team of forensic accountants who quickly deliver valuable support and testimony in federal and state courts. As the National Leader of the Firm’s Litigation Support Services Group, clients look to Phil to provide support services including attending depositions of opposing experts; reviewing financial records and calculating damages; creating or assessing trial exhibits; drafting deposition questions; preparing and responding to interrogatories; and creating and reviewing expert reports. He has been qualified as a forensic accountant and business valuation expert more than 750 times in state and federal courts.
Phil has extensive experience providing a full range of commercial dispute litigation services, helping businesses with such matters as bankruptcy and reorganization, breach of contract, business interruption, business valuation, commercial damages, family law, fraud investigations, lost profits and royalty disputes. For those involved in divorce matters, Phil also serves as a “neutral CPA.” His groundbreaking work in this area has been documented in the AICPA’s Journal of Accountancy.
