FAR Councils Publish Interim Rules Governing Stimulus Act Procurements
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA or Stimulus Act) contained several procurement related provisions. On March 31, 2009, the FAR Councils published interim rules implementing several of these provisions in the Federal Register. The new rules are contained in FAC 2005-32 and became effective March 31, 2009. Interested parties are requested to submit comments on the interim rules by June 1, 2009. Of particular interest to contractors is the fact that these new rules contain contract clauses that are to be inserted in all contracts and orders under which funds appropriated by the ARRA are obligated. States Launch Stimulus Tracking and Advisory Web Sites
Most states have developed their own stimulus activity tracking and advisory Web site to complement the federal page at Recovery.gov . Follow the links below to reach sites for the southeastern states. South Carolina has not posted a site as of yet. The sites detail how each state will receive and utilize resources received from federal stimulus funds, as well as each state’s own commitments. Usually, they include comment sections where residents can make suggestions or give feedback. Check out the site for your state for more information.
