NASACT Webinar: ARRA Reporting Round Two – What Worked, What Didn’t, and What’s Next

NASACT , in conjunction with the Association of Government Accountants and the Association of Local Government Auditors , will be hosting a webinar on Thursday, December 3, 2009 from 2:00pm to 3:50pm EST, to address the key issues and lessons learned from the first round of reporting required by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act . The webinar will address the many challenges and responsibilities government accountability professionals face moving forward. Speakers will include the following:

Recovery Recipient Data Available from GAO

The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO ) has posted the first quarterly data from recipients of Recovery funds on their website. Top-level, interactive charts are available while data is being cleaned and arranged for more detailed analysis. Raw data downloads are also available trough the GAO’s Download Center .  Until this time, only weekly Agency reported, and monthly GAO survey data were available. The interactive “Where is The Money Going?” map displays both Recipient and Agency Reported data, as well as statistics on unemployment rates and overall funding. New AudioConference: Next Steps in Accountability and Control Over Recovery Act Funds

The Association of Government Accountants (AGA) , in conjunction with the National Association of State Auditors, Comptrollers and Treasurers (NASACT) , and the Association of Local Government Auditors (ALGA) , will be hosting an audioconference on August 12, 2009 regarding American Reinvestment and Recovery Act compliance strategies: This program will focus on the next steps for ensuring transparency, accountability and control over Recovery Act funds. As funds begin to be obligated and disbursed under the Recovery Act, the focus is turning to implementing risk management plans, and developing processes, systems and controls to comply with reporting requirements. Our panelists will discuss risk management plans and approaches at the federal agency level, the new Office of Management and Budget (OMB) reporting requirements, efforts under way at the state. OMB Webinars Offer Guidance Regarding Recovery Act Funds

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the Recovery, Accountability and Transparency Board will be conducting a series of webinars this week will provide insight and information on implementing the guidance as provided in OMB Memorandum M-09-21, Implementing Guidance for the Reports on Use of Funds Pursuant to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 that was released on June 22, 2009. The White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has placed emphasis on transparency and ensuring proper compliance in all stimulus-related activities.

OMB Releases New Reporting Guidance for ARRA Funding Recipients

Earlier this week, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) published Implementing Guidance for the Reports on Use of Funds Pursuant to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (“ARRA”). This new guidance implements the reporting requirements associated with ARRA funding as enacted under Section 1512 of the Act.
