Overview

This webinar will cover some of the Accounting Standard Updates (ASUs) that will impact EBPs (ASU 2015-07 and ASU 2015-12). We will discuss why the FASB issued the changes, what the changes are and how you can prepare for the change. Additionally, we will discuss hot topic items that were addressed as part of the AICPA EBP Conference.

Speakers

Tara Edwards, CPA | Partner | Cherry Bekaert LLP
A Partner at Cherry Bekaert with more than 15 years of experience, Tara provides audit and consulting assistance to clients of all sizes in a variety of industries, with an emphasis on internal controls, fraud prevention and compliance. She is a member of the firm’s Risk Advisory Services Group, performing Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, internal audit co-sourcing, risk assessment engagements and internal control assessments for clients utilizing the COSO framework. Tara is also a member of the firm’s Government Contractor Services group, assisting clients with accounting issues related to their federal contracts and grants. She assists clients with accounting system setup and reviews, development of indirect rate structures, preparation of incurred cost submissions, Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) issues and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) compliance. Tara also serves as a firm technical resource related to OMB A-133 audits (single audit) for not-for-profit and state and local governments. A sought-after speaker, Tara has developed and presented several seminars on government contracting, risk advisory and single audit topics.

Callie Carlton, CPA | Manager | Cherry Bekaert LLP
A Manager located in the Firm’s Charlotte office, Callie has more than five years of experience auditing clients in the construction, manufacturing and distribution, professional services and nonprofit industries. In addition to serving her commercial and nonprofit clients, she has experience assisting with over twenty 401(k) plans, including those with 11-K filing requirements, 403(b) plans; other defined contribution plans; employee stock ownership plans; defined benefit plans; and health and welfare plans. Callie has experience in all phases of financial auditing including engagement planning, performance of audit tests, and report writing. She also is experienced in documenting, evaluating and identifying areas of improvement in internal controls and process.

Complaint Resolution Policy

Cherry Bekaert will make every effort to provide the best training courses possible. Record Retention Policy

Cherry Bekaert will retain all Continuing Professional Education (CPE) documents for five years from training course date. These records will include:

  • Course outline
  • Course content and handouts
  • Sign in sheets
  • Dates and locations of training courses
  • Instructor credentials
  • Course evaluations
  • CPE certificates stating amount of recommended CPE credit

Refund and Cancellation Policy

Cherry Bekaert reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any training courses up to 10 business days prior to the date of the event. Full refunds will be provided to registered course participants if the course is cancelled or if participants are unable to attend the rescheduled event.

Participants who must to cancel their course registration 10 or more business days in advance of the event must contact Karen McManus to receive a full refund of all fees paid. Participants who must cancel their registration within 10 business days of the event, will not receive a refund.
