Like most not-for-profit organizations, colleges and universities have their own distinguishing characteristics. In today’s rapidly changing business environment, the ability to successfully navigate the operational and regulatory concerns associated with a tax-exempt status requires a specialized advisory relationship.
To meet the needs of colleges and universities, CB&H has established a specialized service niche within our Not-For-Profit Industry Group, comprised of a core group of experienced professionals that devote a significant amount of their professional time to higher education clients.
This coordinated approach provides our clients with access to accounting and tax professionals who have undergone specialized training and have dedicated their careers to the service of tax-exempt organizations and educational entities.
CB&H offers a seasoned professional management team with extensive experience and specialized knowledge across a wide spectrum of services. The knowledge base and experience of our professionals allows us to offer highly engineered solutions in the areas of financial management, tax consulting and compliance, organizational and personnel development, and IT assurance advisory to our college, university, technical school and foundation clients.
Currently, CB&H serves over 20 colleges and universities and some of the region’s finest institutions. The majority of our engagements with colleges and universities include compliance audits under OMB Circular A-133. These compliance audits encompass student financial aid as well as other federal and state grant programs, which require experience and knowledge of the requirements of Circulars A-21 and A-110.
Commitment to Higher Education
The not-for-profit and higher education sectors are primary service niches for CB&H. We have focused the direction of this important industry group on higher education, private primary and secondary schools, and foundations.
We are proud members and supporters of the National and Southern Associations of College and University Business Officers. We demonstrate our commitment to serving higher education through speaking engagements at SACUBO meetings, and as members, sponsors and supporters of various state, local and other niche organizations catering to the not-for-profit sector in the Southeast.
