SBA Paycheck Protection Program Under the CARES Act

Companies may be eligible for loans fully guaranteed by the Small Business Administration (“SBA”) under the Paycheck Protection Program (“PPP”), part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (“CARES”) Act, and for loans under the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (“EIDL”) program. The EIDL program is already under way, and the PPP program is due to kick off soon. Up to 100% of loan payments under the PPP are forgiven to the extent amounts are used to pay wages, rent, utilities and mortgage payments.
