Tonya Sexstone Joins Cherry Bekaert’s Richmond Tax Practice

Cherry Bekaert LLP (“the Firm”), a growth-focused and nationally acclaimed public accounting firm, is delighted to welcome Tonya A. Sexstone, CPA, as a Tax Partner at its headquarters in Richmond, Virginia.

Tonya brings to Cherry Bekaert over 14 years of professional tax experience. In her role with the Firm, she will serve the tax consulting and compliance needs of middle-market businesses, their owners and high-net-worth individuals. Her guidance will involve developing tax optimization strategies for corporations, large family offices and partnerships, and advising clients on various federal, state and international tax issues. Such issues Tonya’s clients can expect assistance with include tax provisions, consolidated return filings, indirect tax, mergers & acquisitions, dissolutions and tax technology advisory.

In addition, Tonya will be a member of THInc, Cherry Bekaert’s specialty practice catering the innovative needs of clients in the technology, health & life sciences and industrial sectors.

Before coming to Cherry Bekaert, Tonya was a tax director at a national CPA firm in Richmond, Virginia. Her educational background includes receiving a bachelor’s of science degree in Biology & Economics from the University of Virginia and a post-bachelor’s degree in accounting from Virginia Commonwealth University (“VCU”).

Tonya holds professional memberships with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA), and the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG). She is also actively involved with organizations such as the University of Virginia Club of Richmond, the YMCA, Breakthrough Leadership Academy, and VCU’s RAMS to RAMS program.
