Michelle Thompson Recognized as AICPA & CIMA 25 Most Powerful Women in Accounting for 2022

Cherry Bekaert (“the Firm”) is proud to announce that its Firm Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer, Michelle Thompson, has been once again recognized as AICPA and CIMA’s 2022 Most Powerful Women in Accounting. Michelle was recognized for this same award in 2019.
The Most Powerful Women in Accounting award occurs yearly, selecting 25 female professionals who have made a noticeable impact in the accounting career sector. Created by CPA Practice Advisor and administered jointly by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“AICPA”), the award touches base on the contribution of female leaders in top financial companies and their impacts.
This year, the chosen winners exuded the following qualities: being a driven force of innovation and excellence, demonstrably contributing to their organization’s success and accounting profession, providing guidance and leadership to contribute to the growth of the profession, as well as effectively representing accounting through civic and community outreach. The recipients of the award were announced at the AICPA ENGAGE Conference in Las Vegas on Wednesday, June 8.
