What Opportunities Might be Available to Your Business? Employee Retention Credit Expanded and Extended as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021.
The Employee Retention Credit (“ERC”) was introduced as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act to incentivize employers to retain employees during COVID-19 by offering a refundable tax credit against employment taxes. Recently, the Employee Retention Credit was expanded and extended as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021. For more information on eligibility requirements, rules, and provisions for the Employee Retention Credit, please reach out to your local Cherry Bekaert professional and see our latest article on the 2021 Employee Retention Credit Expansion as well as our brochure on New Opportunities for Employers to Claim the Employee Retention Credit.
