Nevada Announces Tax Amnesty Program
Businesses or individuals with tax liabilities in Nevada may qualify to participate in a one-time tax amnesty program from February 1, 2021 to May 1, 2021. Penalties and interest will be waived for qualified taxpayers who remit delinquent taxes during this three-month amnesty period.
To qualify for amnesty, taxpayers must meet the following criteria:
- The delinquent taxes, including monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns, were due and payable on or before June 30, 2020.
- All delinquent taxes due and payable during this time period are paid in full.
NOTE: If a taxpayer has multiple delinquent periods and is not able to pay all periods, penalty and interest will be waived for each period where the tax was paid in full.
- Payments are completed during the three-month amnesty period.
This amnesty program is not available to taxpayers currently in remediation with the state’s Department of Taxation or Nevada’s Tax Commission regarding these delinquent taxes. Also excluded from the amnesty program are taxpayers under audit in Nevada if final assessment reports are not received before May 1, 2021.
