Cherry Bekaert Welcomes Nick Stone as Risk Advisory Services Director

Enhancing the guidance provided by its Risk Advisory Services group, Cherry Bekaert LLP (“the Firm”) is proud to announce the addition of Nick Stone as a Director in the Firm’s Raleigh office.

In this capacity, Stone will support companies in the implementation of enterprise risk management programs through the optimization of internal control systems and actionable enterprise data. He will provide clients in the industrial and technology sectors a range of advisory and assurance services, including financial system and process design, business intelligence solution delivery, internal audit co-sourcing and internal control assessment. Stone will also leverage his expertise to assist clients with IT general controls, post-acquisition integration, SSAE 16 attest engagements and Sarbanes-Oxley Section 302 and 404 reporting requirements.

Stone possesses over 15 years of accounting, finance and operations experience. He began his career as a Software Engineer at a Fortune 500 multinational corporation. Stone later transitioned to a Big Four accounting firm, where he was responsible for managing global integrated audit procedures at several public multinational corporations. He also led a system and process assurance practice supporting the central and eastern North Carolina regions.

Prior to joining Cherry Bekaert, Stone spent eight years serving in leadership roles for a large public, multi-national semiconductor company. Such roles included being a Financial Planning and Analysis Director and Sales Controller.

A licensed Certified Public Accountant in North Carolina, Stone is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association Certified Public Accountants. He also has professional ties to the Institute of Internal Auditors and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association.

Stone attended Bucknell University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. He also earned a Master of Science in Computer Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
