Finance Function Modernization: A Practical Roadmap for Community Foundations – September 22, From 1:30 – 2:45 P.M.
Community foundation finance teams are being asked to do more with the same, or fewer, resources. Fund accounting, grants, investment activity, reporting, compliance, and leadership requests all compete for time, while many teams are still working around manual processes, spreadsheet-based reporting, disconnected systems, and knowledge that lives with only one or two people.
This session will give finance leaders a practical way to step back, assess where their finance function is working well, and identify where targeted improvements could make the biggest difference. We will look at finance modernization through four lenses: people, processes, data and technology. The focus will be on practical changes that can improve efficiency, strengthen controls, reduce risk and make reporting more useful.
Participants will leave with ideas they can take back to their organizations right away, whether they are trying to shorten the close process, improve fund reporting, reduce key-person dependency, prepare for a system change or build a more sustainable finance operation.
